How did I come up with the title In the Frame

I thought of it in an aquafit class, which proves that ideas can pop up at any time, if the seed is germinating away in your brain. My first title was The Opening, because an earlier version of the book centred on an opening reception at a public art gallery. But when I ditched that version in favour of my current plot, I knew I needed a new title.

In the Frame fits on several levels. Obviously, an art gallery is full of frames, so it evokes the setting. Some characters feel framed, in the sense of being blamed for something they didn’t do. And ‘in the frame’ also refers to being considered for a new job, which is the goal of one of the protagonists, Rachel. Cameras, which  feature in the plot, are always framing the shot. So, even though this is a title that other authors have used, it suits my book perfectly.
